Summary of the role:

As a Senior Engagement Manager, you will play a critical role in strengthening EXL’s presence across the UK & EMEA market, driving growth through both existing client relationships and new business development. Acting as a strategic Account Manager, you will be responsible for expanding key accounts, developing and executing go-to-market strategies, and identifying opportunities to introduce EXL’s data, analytics, and commercial insights capabilities within the consumer services sector (Retail and CPG).

We are seeking a commercially driven professional with a strong consulting background and proven experience operating within a data and analytics or commercial analytics environment. You will bring a track record of successfully growing accounts, supported by clear account planning, strategic thinking, and measurable achievements in revenue generation.

The role requires strong sales acumen, the ability to engage and influence C-suite stakeholders, and a deep understanding of the retail landscape. You should be able to articulate a clear point of view on industry trends, demonstrate how you have built and scaled client relationships, and outline a forward-looking perspective on market opportunities over the next 3 years—positioning EXL as a trusted partner within that vision.

The successful candidate will combine business acumen with relationship-building expertise, a proven sales record, and the ability to navigate complex client environments to deliver sustained growth.

Key responsibilities:

  • Developing and executing strategic account plans to grow existing client relationships and drive incremental revenue across key accounts
  • Identifying, originating, and closing new business opportunities within the Retail and CPG sectors across UK & EMEA
  • Building and maintaining strong, trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, including C-suite executives
  • Defining and delivering go-to-market strategies aligned to EXL’s data, analytics, and AI capabilities
  • Leading the end-to-end sales lifecycle, from opportunity identification through to proposal development, negotiation, and deal closure
  • Expanding EXL’s footprint within existing accounts by identifying cross-sell and upsell opportunities across the service portfolio
  • Acting as a strategic advisor to clients, bringing a clear point of view on retail industry trends and how data and analytics can drive business outcomes
  • Collaborating with internal consulting, analytics, and delivery teams to shape compelling, client-centric solutions
  • Driving account governance, including pipeline management, forecasting, and performance tracking against revenue targets
  • Demonstrating a strong understanding of client business challenges and aligning EXL solutions to deliver measurable value
  • Leveraging prior consulting experience to structure complex engagements and articulate business cases for transformation initiatives
  • Maintaining a strong awareness of market trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities within the consumer services sector
  • Contributing to thought leadership and positioning EXL as a trusted partner within the retail and analytics space

Skills and Personal attributes we would like to have:

  • Proven experience in a consulting, data & analytics, or commercial analytics environment
  • Demonstrable track record of growing and managing client accounts, with clear evidence of revenue generation and account expansion
  • Strong experience in developing and executing go-to-market strategies within the Retail and/or CPG sectors
  • Experience in account planning, including identifying growth opportunities, stakeholder mapping, and long-term client development
  • Proven success in leading complex sales cycles and closing high-value deals
  • Strong understanding of the Retail industry, with the ability to articulate trends, challenges, and opportunities
  • Experience engaging and influencing senior stakeholders, including C-suite executives
  • Established network and relationships across UK & EMEA markets
  • Ability to define and communicate a clear value proposition for data, analytics, and AI-led solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to build, scale, and retain strategic client relationships over time
  • Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to align client needs to business outcomes
  • Evidence of consistent achievement against sales targets and business development objectives
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment with a focus on results
  • Assertive, high-energy style who is motivated by winning.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a multicultural global environment.

Qualifications and experience we consider to be essential for the role:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, graduate degree a plus. Preferably MBA
  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience in Account Management within Retail and/or CPG, with a demonstrable track record of expanding accounts, driving revenue growth, and achieving sales targets, gained within a consulting, data, or analytics environment; alongside 8+ years of overall experience across UK and European markets
